After a years-long hiatus due to the global pandemic, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts is finally ready to welcome guests back to the highly anticipated Pasadena Showcase House of Design, one of the oldest houses and gardens, the largest and most successful in the country. tours. The 57th Showcase House returns to South Pasadena for the first time in over 40 years, reimagining an impressive 1905 English Tudor mansion known as Oaklawn Mansion. The Showcase House opens on Sunday, April 24 for public tours.

“Everything you know and love about the Pasadena Showcase House of Design is back,” said Marti Farley, 2021/22 President of the Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts. “We are thrilled to return to South Pasadena, a community we have extensively supported through our four philanthropic programs: Gifts & Grants, Music Mobile, Instrumental Competition and Youth Concert. After four decades, it’s time to return to the charming “City of Trees” with a show home that will showcase all that South Pasadena has to offer.

Anchoring a historic district of century-old homes planned by Greene & Greene, the stately 1905 English Tudor mansion features stately-sized bedrooms, historic and restored stained-glass windows by Judson Studios, wood-beamed ceilings and floor-to-ceiling travertine fireplaces .

Starting Sunday and after just four months of renovations, more than 25,000 guests will visit the more than 20 interior and landscape design spaces highlighting cutting-edge lifestyle trends. Customers can expect more than 20 boutique vendors at the famous Shops at Showcase, as well as several on-site restaurants. Celebrating South Pasadena, daily programming will feature local musicians, speakers, special tours and more.

Pasadena Showcase House for the Artsan all-volunteer, non-profit organization, has supported local music and arts programs since 1948. Through the hard work and dedication of its more than 200 members, the organization raises funds through its primary benefit, the Pasadena Showcase House of Design– one of the oldest, largest and most successful house and garden tours in the country.

Throughout its history, Pasadena Showcase has donated more than $23 million to nonprofits, including through its Gifts and grants program, in support of music education, scholarships, concerts, and music therapy, while continuing to support the LA Phil and its learning programs for which the organization was founded. Pasadena Showcase also promotes the study and appreciation of music among young people with its three annual music programs: the Mobile MusicMT, which introduced orchestral instruments to more than 125,000 third-grade students; the Instrumental competition, which awarded more than $685,000 in cash prizes to exceptionally talented young musicians; and the Youth concertwhich brought nearly 250,000 fourth graders to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for exuberant performances presented by the LA Phil.
