Austrian automaker KTM is expected to introduce its next-generation 390 Duke motorcycle in India in early 2023.

In the latest development, a camouflaged mule of the vehicle was found here, revealing important design details.

Images suggest it will have an aggressive looking headlight, new subframe, updated tank fairings, as well as alloy wheels, among other highlights.

Why is this story important?

  • The 2023 KTM 390 Duke will offer better looks, more features and improved handling over the outgoing model. It is expected to attract many buyers in global markets.
  • Once the two-wheeler hits our shores, market competition will increase dramatically. It will face rivals such as Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Bajaj Dominar 400.

The motorcycle will have alloy rims, a reinforced seat

The 2023 KTM 390 Duke will ride on a beefy fuel tank with extensions, raised seat, underbelly exhaust and arrowhead-shaped mirrors.

The bike will feature a TFT instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation support, an all-LED lighting setup and light-alloy wheels.

Its curb weight and fuel storage capacity will be revealed at a later date.

It could be backed by a 43hp 373cc engine

The upcoming KTM 390 Duke could be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 43.5hp and a maximum torque of 37Nm. The mill could be linked to a 6-speed gearbox with a rapid gear change.

There will be disc brakes at both ends

In terms of safety features, the KTM 390 Duke will feature disc brakes on the front and rear wheels, as well as dual-channel ABS for better handling on the roads.

Suspension duties on the two-wheeler will be taken care of by 43mm inverted forks up front and a mono-shock unit in the rear.

2023 KTM 390 Duke: Pricing and Availability

Availability and pricing details for the 2023 KTM 390 Duke will be revealed at launch. However, in India, it is expected to sport a price above Rs. 3 lakh (former showroom).
