Aside from the modified roofline, the design sketch also reveals a more aggressive design for the front bumper of the coupe.

Skoda previewed its upcoming all-electric Enyaq Coupe iV in a design sketch ahead of its unveil january 31. The sketch takes a closer look at the upcoming all-electric SUV coupe, revealing a few design changes from the standard Enyaq, aside from the obvious roofline.

  • The Evaq Coupé iV to debut on January 31
  • Should share battery options with standard EV

According to the sketch, the Evyaq Coupe carries much of the design of the standard EV, but what immediately stands out is the coupe-like sloping roofline and the modified window line on the sides. The sketch also shows a more aggressive front bumper.

Previous teasers have revealed that the coupe features such things as the illuminated butterfly grille, headlights and taillights of the standard Enyaq with the cabin design which should also mirror the regular electric SUV.

Skoda claims a drag coefficient of 0.234 for its new coupe-SUV, which is said to be the best in its class and makes the new model “particularly efficient to drive”.

The Enyaq Coupe will likely be available with the same batteries as the standard car, although the improved drag coefficient should allow the Coupe to offer slightly more range than standard EVs. As with the standard Enyaq, the coupe is expected to be available with either 58 kWh or 77 kWh batteries.

Skoda has not confirmed whether it will offer the same variety of powertrain setups in the coupe. The standard Enyaq can be fitted with a rear-mounted engine of 179 hp or 204 hp, or one motor on each axle for a combined output of 266 hp.

Skoda’s upcoming launches in India

Skoda started the year with the launch of the petrol Skoda Kodiaq facelift. The automaker is eyeing the launch of six new models (some new and some variants), with a target of selling 70,000 cars this year. The Kodiaq is the first of the new launches, the next is expected to be the all-new Slavia midsize sedan in March. Also on the cards, a new Monte Carlo finish for the Kushaq midsize SUV.

The automaker also plans to bring the standard Enyaq iV to India, but it remains to be seen if this upcoming coupe could do that as well.

General Motors and Lockheed Martin are collaborating on the Lunar Terrain Vehicle which aims to allow astronauts to explore the moon. A recent article on the GM Design Instagram page (embedded below) provides a possible overview of the project’s progress.

The clip begins with a lander bringing the vehicle to the lunar surface. He autonomously comes out of a ramp and a cut reveals a fleet of them driving to the moon to travel with astronauts. At this point, a pair of seats fold upwards to make room for them.

The Lunar Terrain Vehicle has a minimalist design, which makes sense as weight is the enemy of transporting anything in space. There is a lowered body with lots of lights on it and prominent fenders on the sides. A large hoop offers some protection for astronauts. At the rear, there is a truck-like loading bed for transporting equipment.

What’s intriguing is that the design shown in this video is different from the original announcement of the collaboration between General Motors and Lockheed Martin. This machine gave every astronaut a dashboard. It also had a low body with a cargo area in the rear but without the roll bar.

The objectives of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle include being able to reach the south pole of the moon, which has particularly rugged terrain and experiences. the temperature fluctuates from -280 degrees Fahrenheit at night to 260 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. In addition, the machine must operate autonomously and have sufficient payload capacity to transport scientific equipment.

Judging by these two videos, General Motors and Lockheed Martin still seem to be finalizing the look of the Lunar Terrain Vehicle. The overall plan appears to have a simple, flat platform with all-terrain wheels, room for two occupants, and a crate.

The van adopts a two-box configuration with a cleaner pavement, a longer front overhang, a pushed-back rear pillar, a lower beltline, large sliding doors, standard 16-inch wheels and a flat tail. . The LED headlights are connected to the horizontal character line on the profile, with the front bumper and grille showing a slightly different design in the “Air” and “Spada” variants. At the rear, the vertical LED tail lights allow a wide opening of the tailgate reaching very low on the bumper.

In the cabin there are three rows of seats that can accommodate up to six passengers with plenty of leg and head room. The middle row appears to be the most comfortable since the two individual captain’s chairs have reclining footrests and armrests, while being able to slide front and back and left and right. In addition, the foldable third row is more comfortable than before thanks to thicker foam on the seats. Among the highlights of the interior is the easy-to-clean water and oil repellent “Fabtech” padding that seems ideal for families with young children.

The instrument panel features a large 11.4 inch infotainment touchscreen, 10.25 inch digital instrument panel, a convenient tray above the glove box on the passenger side front, a series of buttons in the center console, including single switches for the automatic gearbox, plus slim air vents with a honeycomb pattern similar to the new Civic. Additionally, there is a 15.6-inch roof-mounted monitor for rear passengers.

The Step WGN Air has lighter tones and warm colors inspired by the atmosphere of a living room, while the Step WGN Spada adopts darker tones and a more premium look. According to Honda, the horizontal lines “stabilize the occupant’s field of vision” and help reduce motion sickness. Finally, all variants of the Step WGN will benefit from the standard Honda Sensing ADAS suite.

Unfortunately, Honda did not announce details on the platform and engine lineup for the van. However, we already know that it will be available both as a hybrid version (e: HEV) and as a petrol-only version. The e: HEV will use a two-engine hybrid system with three drive modes, EV (electric only), hybrid (both engines), engine (gasoline – high speed only).

Honda will showcase a pre-production prototype of the Step WGN at Tokyo Auto Salon 2022. We don’t know if the company plans to offer the minivan outside of Japan, but that seems unlikely. TuSimple Holdings Inc. announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Nvidia Corp to use the company’s vehicle chips to design and build an advanced autonomous driving computer for its autonomous trucks.

The computer, known as the domain controller in the automotive industry, will be specially designed for TuSimple’s autonomous commercial trucks, and will power sensor perception and vehicle operation.

Nvidia will provide expertise in artificial intelligence and its Drive Orin hardware, a chip specially designed for autonomous driving capabilities.

Nvidia’s chip-powered controller will be installed in autonomous trucks that TuSimple is developing in partnership with manufacturer Navistar, which is slated for production in 2024.

“We believe this move gives us a significant competitive advantage by accelerating the time to market,” TuSimple CEO Cheng Lu said in a statement.

TuSimple said it will own the rights to use the design of the controller, adding that it plans to work with an anonymous third-party manufacturer to produce it.

Considered essential in the development of autonomous driving, controllers allow automakers to centralize compute-intensive instruments such as cameras, radars and lidar sensors.
