India signs pact with Russia to supply radio equipment for 24 airports

The Russian scientific and production company “Radio technical Systems” (NPO “RTS”) has signed a large-scale contract with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the supply of radio equipment.

The Russian company will manufacture 34 sets of ILS 734 instrument landing system for the modernization of 24 airports in the country.

The domestic manufacturer received the right to conclude a contract based on the results of a global tender, in which, in addition to NPO “RTS”, the world’s largest suppliers of radio equipment took part, according to an official statement. The increased interest of the main manufacturers for the competition is due to the scale of the project: this purchase batch of landing systems has become the largest in the world in recent years.

“The contract between NPO “RTS” and AAI has become a breakthrough for Russian companies in the highly competitive market for ground-based radio equipment in India. There is no doubt that the successful execution of the contract will open new opportunities for the implementation implementation of joint projects to modernize Indian airport infrastructure,” said Russian Ambassador to India Denis Alipov.

“NPO “RTS” has established itself as a reliable partner, having implemented dozens of projects for the supply of ground radio equipment in Russia and abroad, – noted the CEO of NPO “RTS”, Aleksandr Dolmatov – Customers highly appreciate the capabilities of our products, including the ILS 734 Instrumental Landing System, which meets the highest international requirements and standards, high efficiency in fulfilling contractual obligations, high warranty quality and after-sales service.

According to the contract, the first part of the ILS 734 landing systems should be shipped before November this year. Payments for the transaction will be made in national currencies.
