LG Electronics to supply P-OLED information systems to Mercedes-Benz

LG Electronics P-OLED Infotainment System for the Mercedes-Benz EQS 2022

LG Electronics announced on January 12 that its plastic organic light-emitting diode (P-OLED) infotainment systems will be loaded into the Mercedes-Benz EQS 2022 model.

The infotainment system was developed jointly with the German car manufacturer and consists of three screens: an instrument panel, a central information screen and a passenger seat screen.

LG Electronics designed the entire dashboard as a curved widescreen display using a P-OLED display. P-OLED is considered the most suitable display for vehicle displays due to its freely collapsible feature. P-OLED displays have a wide viewing angle and offer excellent picture quality. They can provide a wide range of information to users and perform entertainment functions.

Mercedes-Benz AG’s infotainment system includes various technologies such as curved glass molding, surface treatment and screen bonding.

LG Display dominated the automotive OLED panel market in 2021, reaching a 91.3% share, Omdia, a market research company, said on Jan.12.
