Multiple locations hold back-to-school giveaways, health fair

With students returning to class, several back-to-school events have been planned for the weekend. a return to school where there will be a distribution of school supplies. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue while supplies last. There will be music, activities and a space jump. Terry Park will organize another distribution of school supplies. Free food and a space jump will be offered starting at noon. The event will last while supplies last. The Flowood YMCA will host a health and wellness fair from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be free food and a space jump for the kids. Supplies will be available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at RimTyme, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 2000 Valley Street and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lee’s Heavenly BBQ. Free back-to-school haircuts will also be offered at Hair Explosion in West Jackson.

  • Shady Grove MB Church will be hosting a School Supplies, Vaccines and Reminders event from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • The New Vineyard Church will host a back-to-school party where there will be a distribution of school supplies. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and continue while supplies last. There will be music, activities and a space jump.
  • Terry Park will organize another distribution of school supplies. Free food and a space jump will be offered starting at noon. The event will last while supplies last.
  • The Flowood YMCA will host a health and wellness fair from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be free food and a space jump for the kids.

RimTyme, 2000 Valley Street and Lee’s Heavenly BBQ in Edwards will host a back-to-school event on Sunday. Supplies will be available from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at RimTyme, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 2000 Valley Street and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lee’s Heavenly BBQ.

Free back-to-school haircuts will also be offered at Hair Explosion in West Jackson.
