SEMPER™ NOR Flash Memory Solution Hub Simplifies Design and Accelerates Time to Market for Safety-Critical Applications – EEJournal

Munich, Germany – January 19, 2022 – Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY) today announced additional developer tools supporting the award-winning family of SEMPER™ NOR Flash devices. With the SEMPER Solution Center, a single portal with all the building blocks needed to integrate SEMPER NOR Flash into an application, developers can quickly design mission-critical and inherently secure automotive, industrial, and communications systems.

Infineon’s SEMPER NOR Flash is the first non-volatile memory architectured and designed for functional safety and SEMPER Secure was recently selected as the winner of the CES 2022 Innovation Award in the “Cybersecurity and Privacy” category. For developers of intelligent, autonomous systems used for connected applications, high reliability and functional safety in the event of failure are essential for successful design.

“With our broad portfolio of solutions, SEMPER NOR Flash memory together with the Solutions Hub makes it easy for developers to design for autonomous driving, factory automation and other critical applications,” said Sandeep Krishnegowda, Senior Director of Marketing and Applications, Memory Solutions, Infineon Technologies, LLC. “With increasing complexity and demand for functional safety and secure systems, customers need proven, industry-compliant components that they can easily integrate into their designs, along with robust tools and resources.”

About Infineon’s SEMPER Solution Center

The SEMPER Solutions Hub provides the development advantage needed to accelerate the design process. The web portal provides easy access to software development kits (SDKs) containing production-grade drivers and sample application code. Additionally, it offers hardware kits for prototyping with microcontroller (MCU) system boards from Infineon and third-party vendors, MCUs, and integrated development environments (IDEs) available. Supported architectures include Infineon PSoC™ 6 and AURIX™ TC375, Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™.

About the Infineon SEMPER NOR Flash

Infineon’s SEMPER NOR Flash meets or exceeds automotive grade requirements and is ISO 26262 ASIL B, ASIL D-ready and AEC-Q100 compliant. The device is also IEC-61508 SIL 2 compliant for industrial applications. The devices take advantage of Infineon’s exclusive MIRRORBIT™ technology to store two bits per cell, allowing higher density devices to be used.

With bandwidth up to 400MB/s, SEMPER NOR Flash delivers the performance needed for instantaneous applications, including automotive instrument clusters and industrial HMI systems. Infineon’s flexible endurance architecture also allows individual partitions to be configured for data retention of 25 years or more than one million P/E cycles. This optimizes a single device for code storage, system data storage, and data logging.

Availablity

Developers can access the SEMPER Solutions Hub now. It includes software, kits and tools, as well as links to access Infineon and third-party resources. SEMPER NOR Flash memory is now available in densities ranging from 512 MB to 2 GB. More information is available at www.infineon.com/semper-solutions-hub and www.infineon.com/semper.
